Singapore Airlines revised fare types, increased fees – guide on how this will affect us in New Zealand

After devaluing its award chart for travel on its own flights back in March last year, and then for Star Alliance partner flights in December, Singapore Airlines have announced changes to fare types, KrisFlyer upgrade eligibility, and fee increases.

All changes took effect from 20 January 2018, with the exception of the service fees, which will take effect from 1 May.

Our take on KrisFlyer’s devaluation of its Star Alliance partner award chart

After devaluing its award chart for travel on its own flights back in March, Singapore Airlines’ KrisFlyer program is making redemptions on its Star Alliance partner airlines more expensive from next month, while softening the blow by making these flights bookable online instead of over the phone.
