10 reasons why KrisFlyer is one of my favourite frequent flyer programs (and 6 downsides)

Being a code share and Star Alliance partner with Air New Zealand, as well as Australia’s second-largest international carrier (after Emirates), the Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer frequent flyer program is one of the most useful frequent flyer programs for travellers in NZ and Australia.

In my mind, the relative value of KrisFlyer miles has increased given the upcoming introduction of a Carrier Charge by Velocity and the continuing imposition of high taxes and surcharges by Qantas.

Singapore Airlines A380 (new) Business Class overview

After experiencing the phenomenal new Singapore Airlines A380 Suites earlier this year, I was looking forward to seeing how it had improved its business class product. Personally, I was wasn’t a huge fan of the old A380 business class seat as it was too wide for my frame, even with pillows stuffed either side I could never get comfortable.

So, for an upcoming trip to Europe I decided to book with Singapore Airlines specifically to try its new A380 in business class to Singapore and the A350 to Dusseldorf. Continue reading…

How I will be travelling to Japan for the 2018 Point Hacks team catch up

In September 2017, the Point Hacks crew had a team meetup in Singapore. We enjoyed getting to spend some time together face-to-face, given how geographically spread out we are across the world.

In fact, we enjoyed it so much, we will be doing it again this year – in Tokyo, Japan!

I will be using this trip as an opportunity to try out a new business class product, one of New Zealand’s most interesting flight routes, and arguably two of the best First Class airport lounges in the world.
