Maximising your stopovers when redeeming KrisFlyer miles

Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer programme has undergone radical changes in 2019, with significant increases to the Singapore Airlines and both the Star Alliance and partner airlines reward charts. 

Prior to these changes, there existed a quirk whereby combining travel on Singapore Airlines and a Star Alliance partner would cost you fewer miles overall than redeeming for a Singapore Airlines only award redemption. This is no longer the case.
