Qantas announced yesterday that you can now request an upgrade using your Qantas Points for Classic Award bookings (i.e. bookings you’ve made with your Qantas points).

This new ability to upgrade Classic Award flights has introduced another layer to the question of ‘how should I redeem my Qantas Points’, and has the potential to extract more points from your hard-earned frequent flyer balance.

A big factor in people applying for credit cards is to earn sign-up bonuses, like the 400 Airpoints Dollar bonus on offer for the American Express Airpoints Platinum or 20,000 Membership Rewards points bonus for the American Express Platinum Edge.

KrisFlyer devaluation hits NZ travellers hard but possible savings when travelling outside of our region

Singapore Airlines’ frequent flyer program KrisFlyer has announced its first change in award pricing in five years, affecting flights ticketed from 23 March 2017 onwards.

The elimination of fuel surcharges on award tickets on Singapore Airlines will have no tempering effect on the points increase for flights from New Zealand as those surcharges are not applied in NZ anyway. Continue reading…
